Terms of Service

Welcome to findapaw.com. By using this site or buying an advertisement from us, you agree to these Terms. Please read them and keep a copy.

The short version. We build a lost pet advertisement and run it on Facebook to people near where your pet went missing. We cannot guarantee your pet will be found, and we do not promise a specific number of views. Prices are one-time. Refunds are considered case by case.

1. What we provide

Find a Paw is an advertising service. When you buy a plan we agree to:

Create an advertisement using the pet information, photo and contact details you provide;
Target it at the geographic area around the last-seen location you give us;
Submit it to Facebook for delivery;
Provide you with a printable flyer containing the same information.

That is what you are paying for.

2. What we do not provide

We do not guarantee that your pet will be found or returned. We do not guarantee any number of impressions, views, clicks, shares, sightings or responses. We do not search for pets ourselves.

Delivery is controlled by Facebook, not by us. Facebook reviews every advertisement and may reject or restrict one for reasons outside our control. Reach varies with population density, competition in the ad auction, and the quality of the photo and information you supply. Any reach figures shown on this site are estimates based on typical delivery, not commitments.

3. Plans and pricing

Our current plans are:

Basic: $34.99, an estimated 1,500–2,500 local Facebook users within about 5 miles, over 3 days.
Plus: $49.99, an estimated 2,500–3,500 local Facebook users within about 8 miles, over 7 days.
Turbo: $84.99, an estimated 4,500–6,000 local Facebook users within about 12 miles, over 7 days.
Priority Pet: $25.00, an optional add-on that pins your pet to the Find a Paw homepage.

All prices are in US dollars and charged once. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel. Campaigns run for the number of days specified unless your pet is found or you ask us to stop.

4. Your information must be accurate

You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you submit. An advertisement aimed at the wrong location, or carrying a wrong phone number, is far less useful, and we build it from what you give us.

If you spot a mistake, contact help@findapaw.com immediately. If the advertisement has not yet gone live we will usually correct it. Once it is live, corrections may require restarting the campaign.

5. Photos you upload

You confirm that you own the photo you upload, or have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

By uploading it you grant Find a Paw a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, adapt and publish that photo for the sole purpose of creating and running your advertisement, including publishing it on Facebook and Instagram. This licence exists so we can do the job you paid for. We do not use your photo for anything else without asking you, and the licence ends when your campaign ends.

6. Acceptable use

You may only submit an advertisement for a pet that is genuinely missing, and only where you are the owner or acting with the owner's knowledge. You may not use this service to publish another person's contact details without their consent, to harass anyone, or for any unlawful purpose.

We may refuse or cancel any order at our discretion and refund it.

7. Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. under their own terms. Your card details are entered on Stripe's systems and never reach our servers. We never see or store your full card number.

8. Refunds

Because of the nature of the service, refunds cannot be guaranteed. Orders are typically fulfilled and the advertising campaign funded shortly after payment is received, at which point the money has been spent with Facebook and cannot be recovered.

That said:

If your pet is found before we have built your advertisement, tell us and we will refund you in full.
If the advertisement has been built but has not yet gone live, we will refund what we reasonably can.
Once the campaign is running, ad spend already placed with Facebook cannot be returned.

Requests are reviewed case by case and Find a Paw reserves the right to deny a request. To request a refund, email help@findapaw.com with your order number.

9. If your pet is found

Tell us at help@findapaw.com and we will stop the campaign. We would genuinely like to hear about it.

10. No account

This service does not require an account and does not create one. Everything you need is sent to the email address you provide. Keep your confirmation email; it contains your order number.

11. Intellectual property

All content on this site, including text, graphics, logos and images, is the property of Find a Paw or its suppliers and is protected by copyright and other laws. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the site in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, republish, reverse engineer, sell or create derivative works from the content.

12. Not affiliated with Meta

Find a Paw is an independent advertiser. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc. Facebook and Instagram are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc.

13. Children

Find a Paw does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of thirteen. If you are under 18, you may use this site only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

14. International users

This service is operated from the United States and our advertising targets locations within the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Find a Paw, its officers, directors, employees and agents from any losses, costs, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, any material you submit, your breach of these Terms, your violation of the rights of a third party, or your violation of any applicable law.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Find a Paw's total liability arising from your use of this service is limited to the amount you paid for the advertisement in question.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, including any loss arising from a pet not being found. The service and everything on this site are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

17. Class action waiver

Any arbitration under these Terms will take place on an individual basis. Class arbitrations and class, representative or collective actions are not permitted. The parties agree that a party may bring claims against the other only in that party's individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any putative class, collective or representative proceeding.

18. Governing law

To the maximum extent permitted by law, this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of Georgia in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of this site.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. The most current version supersedes all previous versions, and the version in force for your purchase is the one published at the time you bought.
